We've been living with artificial intelligence for a while now: recommendations, search results, voice recognition and driving assistance features are all now fairly recognisable to us.
But the 'generalised' intelligence promised by AI visionaries has taken longer to materialise.
DALL.E 2 has changed all that. The boffins at Open AI have trained their algorithm to generate images based on simple text input. Don't worry - it's not actually sentient (yet?!). But the images it produced for us were weird, wonderful and... well, surprisingly great at bringing to life our brand idea.
Snooze Foundry, impressionist painting
If only our warehouse looked as gorgeous as this. Dall-e has given us something to work towards.
"Snooze Foundry, line drawing"
We ADORE this steampunk re-imagining of Snooze Foundry. It's intricate, industrial and beautifully drawn.
"A foundry making products that help people sleep better, painting with mainly blue and black colours"
We love the blue dye he's using to make this pillow / seat cushion. We just hope he didn't sustain an injury to his face working at Snooze Foundry!
"A foundry making products that help people sleep better, painting"
Is he a worker in the foundry or helping to test out these, erm, white biscuits?
"The perfect pillowcase for helping people sleep well"
This extra long pillow seems designed to fit snugly around the neck. It's an odd shape, sure, but we can see ourselves snuggling up to this on the sofa.
"The Perfect Sleep Gadget"
We love listening to music or audiobooks at bedtime and our subject here seems to be happily listening to something whilst in bed. The addition of a smooth white headband with weird white thing sticking out of it adds a touch of comfort to the scene.
A gorgeous range of sleep products on a gradient background with drop shadow
Somewhat reassuringly, the AI produced images of pillowcases, sheets and what looks like a funky sleep eye mask - all products that snooze foundry stocks. Unfortunately we couldn't make head nor tail of the other shapes, so sadly we won't be stocking those any time soon.
